Meet David

David was born in Toowoomba and raised on the family dairy farm near Jondaryan.  His first job was milking cows.

He attended country primary schools at Acland and Jondaryan before boarding at Concordia Lutheran College where he was Head Boarder Boy and School Captain.

He studied law and economics at the University of Queensland and worked in national law firms in Brisbane.  David then spent over three years in London working in legal and corporate roles while his wife Melinda pursued her opera singing career throughout Europe.

They returned home a decade ago to raise their daughters in beautiful Toowoomba. Their third child, a son, was born in late 2017.

During these years, David served in a range of senior leadership positions at Heritage Bank and volunteered for many community organisations including the Toowoomba Chamber of Commerce, Empire Theatres Foundation, Leukaemia Foundation, Salem/Northridge aged care facilities and Landcare.

He was also appointed to local and state boards such as the Southern Downs Regional Council Audit and Risk Committee and Opera Queensland.

He was elected as the member for Toowoomba South in July 2016.

David was appointed Shadow Attorney-General and Minister for Justice on 15 December 2017.
