Mr Janetzki promised to continue his tireless advocacy for the community and deliver what matters most to residents.
“It’s been my privilege to serve the Toowoomba South community for the past eight years and work with people to help find solutions to the problems they face,” Mr Janetzki said.
“It’s the little things that make a big difference in people’s lives and together we have achieved so much,” he said.
“Lobbying for a long-overlooked footpath on Greenwattle Street was one of those small but rewarding wins – because it means better access to shops for Glenvale retirees such as ex-firefighter and war veteran Gary Proellocks on his mobility scooter.
“A simple but life-changing solution for hundreds of elderly residents wanting to maintain their independence and families using the thoroughfare.”
Former Toowoomba South MP Mike Horan launched Mr Janetzki’s campaign at the Southern Hotel last Thursday.
Surrounded by his family, local leaders, supporters and community members, Mr Janetzki emphasised his commitment to representing Toowoomba South with integrity, passion, and a clear vision for a prosperous future.
Mr Janetzki has been a strong advocate for victims of crime and giving a voice to those most vulnerable.
“I’ve fought for the Palaszczuk/Miles government to take our crime crisis seriously,” Mr Janetzki said.
“The death of Robert Brown devastated our city – and for the first time ever I was taking calls from residents who were now too scared to venture into our CBD for their shopping,” he said.
“I will never forget hearing from the elderly couple who were sleeping in shifts, taking turns to watch their front door for fear of youths breaking into their home.
“And that is why it is time to strengthen the law, properly resource the police and back early intervention programs that work.
“It’s also why I believe the child safety and foster care system must be fixed – to protect our vulnerable and at-risk kids.”
Mr Janetzki said residents across Toowoomba and Queensland were demanding change and the LNP stands ready to deliver.
“Our region deserves a fresh approach after this decade-long Palaszczuk/Miles government,” he said.
“Our plan will deliver for the Toowoomba region whether you are starting a career, growing your family, building a small business, or enjoying the lifestyle our region has to offer.”
