LNP appoints David Janetzki new deputy whip

Toowoomba South MP David Janetzki has been appointed as the LNP’s new deputy whip.

Mr Janetzki’s new role will involve assisting the LNP’s chief whip, Toowoomba North MP Trevor Watts, in ensuring party discipline in State Parliament.

Whips ensure all party members are present in the Chamber when a vote is taken, explain and prepare MPs for the daily agenda and arrange for LNP members to take part in debates.

LNP Leader Tim Nicholls said Mr Janetzki was the obvious choice when it came to appointing a new deputy whip this week.

“I have been really impressed with David’s work ethic and commitment since being elected to parliament last year,” Mr Nicholls said.

“David is hard-working, conscientious and is turning into a fine parliamentarian who always has the interests of his community at the forefront of everything he does.”
